FISHING

Fly Fishing is the activity at Millstream Farm. We have 13 weirs - suitable for beginners, 3 ponds for the slightly more experienced and 5 dams for the experienced fly fisherman. Stocking takes place fornightly with trout ranging from 500g to 1,5kg. Larger trout (2kg to 4kg) are stocked during the year if supply is available.

Millstream Farm allows the use of float boat tubes and kick boats on the dams and the use of waders is also permitted.

BAG LIMITS
Anglers may keep a limited number of fish free of charge depending on the size house in which they stay. (15 fish per 5 bedroom house per week or pro-rata for smaller houses or shorter stays.

FISHING LIMIT
There is no limit to the number of fish caught if they are correctly released.

BOATING
The use of private boats other than kick boats and float tubes is prohibited
Millstream Farm boats are used at the hirer's own risk.
Propelling a boat by any means other than oars or flippers is prohibited.
No boat may come within 50m of a bank Angler or wading Angler.

EQUIPMENT
Only Fly Casting rods may be used and only in conjunction with the appropriate fly line and leader.

LICENCES AND RESTRICTIONS
Mpumalanga provincial licences are not required by Anglers on Millstream Farm waters. The use of the waters is restricted to residents of the farm only and does not extend to their day visitors or members of the public.

SEASONS
There are no restricted seasons on the waters of Millstream Farm.

SIZE LIMITS
There are no size limits applicable to fish taken from Millstream waters and any fish except those in Trophy Dams and those species that are protected may be taken.

NUMBER OF DAMS AND WEIRS
Millstream has 1 large dam, 5 medium dams ,3 ponds and 13 weirs all of which are stocked on a regular basis.
